VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Aug 20, 2010 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX News Network) -- Cavan Ventures Inc. (TSX VENTURE: CVN), a public mineral exploration company based in Vancouver, British Columbia, is pleased to announce that work has commenced on the KM Project located approx. 60 kilometres north of Hazelton, British Columbia. In connection with the reported results of the 2009 program disclosed in the Nov 12, 2009 news release; the company has commenced an aggressive program of geology, prospecting, sampling, and trenching to delineate targets for diamond drilling. The 2010 program will consist of the following:
-- Further reconnaissance prospecting and geological mapping on the north side of the property.
-- Trenching and sampling of previously and newly identified anomalous areas.
-- Mapping and systematic sampling of the traceable, numerous, relatively- thick mineralized quartz veins cutting the diorite stock west of the Gully Vein. The continuity of these mineralized veins will be an important factor in grade estimation.
Further outcrop-scale mapping with a focus on early structures that may control mineralization in the main sill areas will help predict and find potentially economically-viable intercepts. These veins are structurally-controlled and a comprehensive understanding of these early structures is required. Brian Malahoff, P.
